Tell Us Your Best Moment of 2013 Feature!Hi, everyone
I thought for today's feature, we would do something a little special, since we are approaching the end of the year, and will soon be seeing the first anniversary of :iconfeature-it-monday: next month!
I think this would be a great time to have a retrospective look back, on 2013's high-light's, both for the group, and also for you, the members.
We'd love to hear your stories and anecdote's, fun things that have happened; about the biggest things that have overjoyed, surprised, delighted, and awed you, on Deviant Art, this year
For myself, the biggest high-light's of my artistic year, were:
Coming across :iconfeature-it-monday: - joining, and getting to know you all; bringing to the group, the popular Special Guest interview feature's, helping to arrange our very first Winter Contest - eventually stepping into Courtney's founder shoes, and hoping that I make the group as much fun as Courtney did
On a personal level, I celebrated my 1s

The group has expanded to just over 700 members now, and this is thanks to all of you, that make the group the beautiful place that it is - thank you

1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in Poetry?
I'm most commonly known as Dreamlight (which is short for Walking in Dreamlight), and it's a special name for me, and means so very much
I've been writing in one way or another since I was very young. I've always been interested in stories and imaginary worlds, and love reading and creating new places and people in my mind, and it's only really in the la
Winter Contest Results and Winner Announcement!Hi, everyone
Welcome to the group's first Winter Contest announcement!
Before we go into announcing this year's winner and runner's up, I would like to very much take this opportunity, to thank each and every one of you that took part in our first big group contest. Myself and my fellow judges, had a difficult time, narrowing the entries down into 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
And do you know what: even if your work has not won - you deserve a round of applause, for creating such beautiful artwork:
Each of the entries submitted, were very beautiful, and epitomised the theme of the contest wonderfully, and I loved each and everyone of them. You were all great, and we all wish that we could have selected all of you to win
Contest entries deserving of a special mention

Without further ado, on with the interview!
1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in poetry/literature?
My name is Windy. I'm currently 20 years old (but I will be 21 by the time this interview is released). I will also have my associates degree in Liberal Arts. For as long as I can remember, I have always been into creative things. When I was little, I could spend hours drawing or filling up my coloring books with various hues. But it wasn't until middle school when I realized how much I love poetry. It was just a whole new world for me. I liked the way that I could play with words, and use them to express my thoughts or feelings. Furthermore, I enjoyed telling stories throu
Faith Manages...Happy Birthday, Colin!Hi, my friends
I saw an interesting news article today, in one of our UK online newspapers, and it actually left me quite fulfilled that there is still a shred of decency within humanity as a species, and everything about us is not all bad
It's a story abut a little boy called Colin who is nearly 11 years old, and lives in America. The story came about because of a Facebook page setup by Colin's mum, because she wanted to have a 11th Birthday party for Colin, but the problem was that he had no friends at school to invite, and didn't think it was worth the time and effort for his mum to create a special day for him.
Colin has Asperger's Syndrome and finds it hard to interact with other children, and other children don't understand his way of life, so this has created a gulf from which Colin feels that he has no expectations of being friends with anyone.
Here is the newspaper article that I saw: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/boy-called-colin-no-friends-3140568

1- Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in photography?
My name is Olivia, I am 19 years old and live in Germany. This year I got my A-levels and I'd like to study medicine.
I got my first camera on February, 15th, 2010, my 16th birthday. It was a cheap Medion cam, but with it I got the passion to catch moments. It was almost impossible to shoot creatively, but I tried. And then my grandfather died in April. That was the moment I decided to take pictures seriously, since I did not have many pictures of my grandfather. I worked the whole summer from 6AM on to earn money for a DSLR and in August, I made the best investment ever: My D5000.

SixWordStories Contest ~ Lots of Prizes!Update: 8 more hours to get your entries in! For those that have already submitted, please double check your entry is accepted!
A type of Flash Fiction, six word stories are (very) short stories with an exact word count: six words. SixWordStories is the place where, alongside quality, quantity really does matter. Though these stories are so brief in length, they can be as profound, if not more, than the prose and poetry you see and read every day, partly because six word stories can tell us so much and yet contain so little.
As a Group, we encourage writers to explore their boundaries with prompts, collaborations and more, but we accept anyone and everyone too! Whether you are a digital artist, photographer, or something else entirely, if you can string six words together into a story, this is the place to be!
It has been a long time since we have had a contest, but we have some awesome prizes to be won and enough freedom for you to enjoy yourselves too! Pl
Feature time!Hey everyone
and this is a much belated feature from :iconpoetrynprosewatchers: . I apologize sincerely on behalf of the administration for not keeping this group as active as I used to especially given that so many deviations have been submitted to this group.
Now, before we proceed, I'd like to personally introduce our new contributor: :iconthegreendragoon:
Much like :iconjwa2277: and :iconpauper-circumstance: , I'm always on the lookout for good literature, and well - I look forward to having his company around here
Why not give his works a read? Here they are
With that said, I'd like to personally thank :iconpaleauthor: and :iconecholalic-ellie: and :icondiluculi: for being active in contributing to the group's folders. good work, and I'm hopeful that everyone else (like :iconprettyflour: for instance) will like our prompt.

1. Favorite animal?
2. Favorite Book?
That's a tough one, to be honest. I got dibs on books, rather than book. But since its one title only, Frank Delaney's "Ireland".
4. If you could go anywhere and do anything, what would you do?
(deep breath) Well, why the fuck not, eh... I'd just get a UN passport or something similar, then meet everyone I've befriended here on dA.
5. Most inspirational person for you on DA?
Its not one person, its multiple numbers to be honest.

dAy Brighteners!I stole this from SimplySilent because she's amazing. Skin is not mine.
So I have this mini-project up called dAy Brighteners (sounds like an air freshener ) where Deviants go to any five other Deviants and comments a sentence or two in an attempt to brighten up their day. It can be friends, stranger, even Groups. I think this might benefit the community here at least a bit.
If this gets big enough, maybe a Group could be developed. Or at least a bigger project!
Plus, if you join, you'll get a Llama from me.

Devious Journal EntryHey everyone
Anyway, what's up at my end?
My deviation stack's gone down to 128 (as of now) and the number of journals/forums/polls combined are 173. Honestly speaking I'm not complaining because frankly, I loved the works I've read and seen. I'll be sure to do a feature of them whenever I can.
How did I manage that? My laptop came back and its working like a charm... which is surprising because of what its been going through:
keyboard pad changedRAM changedThird hard disk installed (previous two were damaged brutally)Two USB ports non-functionalMousepad buttons non-functionalMy previous laptop ran for seven years But anyway, fuck that. Its back, I'm happy
Also, AyeAye12 had tagged me in a handwriting meme.
but frankly I couldn't be bothered in following the rules of the meme tag (sorry about that Aye, hope you like it anyway).
This applies to Lethus1 and everyone else - in case you'd like to have the work in an electronic form I'l
1st Anniversary (Feature It Monday) Contest!Hi, everyone
We have a couple of important announcements to mention today.
On 15th January, Feature It Monday is one year old, and to celebrate this moment of importance, we will be hosting a contest, based on a birthday feature theme: (this is completely open to interpretation), so let your imaginations fly
The contest will run from today, until 27th January (12pm - UK GMT) and as soon as the contest closes, we'll be putting up the entrants for member's voting (27/1 - 30/1).
The entrant with the most votes, will be announced on the 31st January, and will win a one month front page feature
The contest is open to all artistic mediums, and all member's of Feature It Monday!
To celebrate the 15th of January on a more personal level, I'll be doing what I know you've all been waiting for - an interview with myself, about my art!
Normally, I like to let my art speak for me, but just this once, I'll answer the interview questions tha

We are not those folks that need an occasion to try. And that’s what they call it, too. Trying. As if the very idea of it is taxing. It’s not taxing and we are not those people.
No. We do not go by some magical calendar. Schedules aren’t really our thing in general. That’d be too organized. Too stuffy. Too… I don’t know… too planned. And we’re not the type of people whom plan.
If we could—plan—our lives would be much different. I think. It’s hard to say because this is how we’ve always been.
Our very togetherness is a result of impulse. I’m almost certain that the amount of time it took us to decide to move in together was significantly shorter than the amount of time it took us to remember each other’s names. We might have had our first conversation moments after that first… what I mean to say is we didn’t plan. Because planning would have been much t
